The Monster Big Band plays it's monthly gig at Ruta Maya on South
Congress. This month, they have invited local singer/songwriter DrewSmith to play a couple of his songs with the band. Drew is a talentedsongwriter on the rise and The Monsters are the most rockin' bandaround, playing everything from Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to DukeEllington and Count Basie, not to mention original compositions and fun arrangements of movie themes and jazz standards. There is a $7 cover charge but worth every penny. So bring your dancing shoes and come spend an evening with The Monster Big Band and Drew Smith. You won't regret it.

Wolf Ranch Jazz Festival - April 27, 2007
To kick off the festival on Friday evening, the Georgetown High School Jazz Band will play big band standards in a free concert at Wolf Ranch starting at 7 p.m. Joining the Jazz Band will be the Monster Big Band, which includes some of the top jazz musicians in Central Texas. GHS Jazz Band CDs will be available at the event. Food and drink sales by Quizno's, Chick-fil-A and Cold Stone Creamery will help support the Jazz Band. The concert will be held at the Wolf Ranch shopping center in the southeast plaza near the fountain. Wolf Ranch is located on University Avenue (SH 29) just west of I-35.
